Authentication Policy
Authentication Policy Last updated: April 4, 2023
Our goal is to build a destination for designer furniture and collectibles, and this Authentication Policy describes the steps we take to ensure any collectibles or vintage products we feature that are created by other brands are authentic.
We will not support the buying or selling of collectibles or vintage items that are replicas, contain inauthentic or non-factory parts, or do not meet our standards of sale. We take fraud extremely seriously.
This Authentication Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Verification Process
We verify products sold through KIN by means such as digital authentication, in-hand verification, or a combination of the same. To support our verification process, we log thousands of data points on our products to help ensure their authenticity.
Our team of authentication specialists are highly trained to identify any indication that an item may not be authentic. They inspect details from aesthetics to electronics, and so much more. By doing so, we seek to ensure the product you purchase is both authentic and as described.
Guarantee
KIN guarantees our verification process. While collectibles and vintage items are sold “as is,” we guarantee that the items you purchased matches what was described in the listing. If there is any discrepancy, we will contact you to determine a solution. A refund may be necessary.
If a product is altered in any way, shape or form after the product is received by the buyer, this guarantee is no longer valid.
Customer Support for Authenticity
If we find your item to be inauthentic or not as described during our authentication inspection, we will not ship it to you and will offer you a full refund.
If you receive your item and believe it is not as described, contact us within 2 days and tell us the issue so we can assist in resolving it. This can be completed by emailing help@kincollectors.com. If we agree with your claim, you will receive a full refund.
A Note About Standard Maintenance
Even for proven experts it is often impossible to trace all repairs (e.g. each exchanged component and its originality or the use of an identical component from another manufacturer, such as screws) in a guitar or watch. The exchange or replacement of elements does not impair the originality of the purchased object.
Items that have been maintained as described in this section will not violate this Authentication Policy.
